16-Inch Softball Hall of Fame Inductee Park Unveiled in Forest Park, IL
Chicagoans celebrated more than a century of 16" softball with the unveiling of Chicago's 16" Softball Hall of Fame Inductee Park located in Forest Park, IL on Sunday, July 19th. The historic event brought together and honored more than 300 of the greatest 16" softball players of all time, including Wally Filkins, Tony Reibel, Larry Kelly, Mary Pat McGuire and more.
Immediately following the ceremony, Hall of Fame inductee and restaurateur Rich Melman of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises kicked off a celebrity Northside vs. Southside 16" softball game which featured prominent Chicago personalities including radio host Mike North, news personality Bob Sirott, 670 the Score host Matt Abbatacola, Chicago Bear Robbie Gould, Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, State Senator Rick Hendon, Willy Simpson, Jake Jacobi, Ed Zolna, among others.
