Happy August! To celebrate the beginning of a new month, let’s treat ourselves to some amazing dishes and drinks:
Bring your cash, folks, because the rooftop at Gene’s Sausage Shop of Lincoln Square is the place to be during this final month of summer! Beyond the expansive variety of sausages, check out the grilled pretzel and assortment of imported German and domestic beers.Noodles and oodles of fun! What sounds better than delving into a big fat bowl of our favorite Italian go-to at The Pasta Bowl of Lincoln Park? This quick and easy sit-down restaurant is a quaint stop that makes for the perfect quick bite. The Farfalle Polo is a fan favorite! How convenient to visit the same place for both a morning coffee and an evening cocktail! The Nighthawk Chicago has beer for the fellas and liquor for the ladies with classic, stirred and shaken beverages. Take a trip to this hotspot on Kimball Ave.!
What do technology, insects and fashion have in common? Project Kino started a fashion line inspired by “living jewelry,” or large bedazzled beetles and other insects worn as accessories. Eventually, robots will allow users to swap features in and out, based on functionality. For example, on a raincoat, temperature sensors could trigger the robots to pull the hood’s strings down. Trendy AND functional? We’ll take it!
Campaigns We Love.
Budweiser developed an 8-minute short film that highlights Pacific Northwest locals. As beer culture is very prominent in the Northwest part of the country, the video is all about Budweiser using their brand values as an authentic platform. Three subjects appear in their own individual clips of the film and show the brand’s appeal to patriotism, ambition, integrity and hard work.
